Blue Hill Falls, Maine
What would become Plantation #5 was initially "settled" on Mill Island in 1762 by two men (Roundy & Wood) who were not part of the original subscribers of the Plantation in January of that same year. The Plantation would be referred to as "Head of the Bay" & "New Port" (or Newport) until being formally incorporated as Blue Hill in 1789. Today's Blue Hill Falls is a neighborhood originally referenced as the Tide Mill neighborhood/district and it is home to Blue Hill's oldest man-made structure still in continuous use since 1765 - The Mill Pond Dam (and it is not a causeway).
